Shabigga & Siddity (IG)

From Roxanne Shante and MC Lyte to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, women have always been making history in Hip-Hop. Often uncredited.

Who Is Shaabiggaa & High Siddity?

I had no idea but as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across Shaabiggaa and High Siddity sitting on a concrete block rhyming over Busta Rhymes‘ (more) Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See in a rap cadence similar to Jadakiss (more) & Styles P (more).

Normally, I don’t get excited over female rappers.

Okay. I have only gotten excited over one female rapper ever in my life.

Antoinette (video) BUT that’s because we both attended the same high school – DeWitt Clinton, Bronx.

Nevertheless, I love the energy and rawness these two bring to the game. Plus, how many people can take a Busta Rhymes track and make it theirs?

I probably have watched this video more than 25+ times and it made me want to create this website, YouTube channel and Instagram feed featuring New York rappers that will never see the light of day from Hot 97 or Power 105.9.

Anyhow, I hope good things for these young women.
